Gold Rings: The Most Common Scrap We See
Gold rings are the single most frequent item brought through our Lord Street doors. They come in every form, from chunky gent's signets to delicate dress rings and plain wedding bands. Whatever the style, the principle of valuation is the same: purity and weight.
How Each Type of Ring Is Valued
- Signet rings: Often heavy and solid, these are among the highest-paying scrap rings per piece. Engraving does not reduce value.
- Wedding bands: Plain, solid bands are straightforward to weigh and test, with a reliable, predictable payout.
- Dress rings: Frequently 18ct and set with small stones; we assess both the gold and any genuine gemstones separately.
What About the Stones?
If your ring carries a genuine diamond or precious stone, we assess that separately from the gold. Many dress rings hold small diamonds that add meaningful value on top of the metal weight. We never simply scrap a stone, we tell you exactly what it is worth.
Rings that are bent, stretched, cut, or missing a stone are still welcome. The gold content remains fully payable regardless of condition.
